The Douglas TBD Devastator was an important early-war torpedo bomber for the United States Navy. Operated by a crew of three — pilot, torpedo officer/navigator and radioman/gunner — it featured a wingspan of 15.24 meters and was powered by a 900 hp Pratt & Whitney R-1830-64 Twin Wasp radial engine.
