From 1941 onwards, the German Wehrmacht began operating half-track vehicles equipped with heavy 28/32 cm Nebelwerfer 41 rockets. One of the chassis used was the Sd.Kfz. 251/1, originally designed to transport panzergrenadiers. For the rocket launcher configuration, special support structures were fitted to both sides of the sloping armoured hull, each carrying three launch frames. This allowed the vehicle to carry and fire six heavy rockets. The troop compartment, normally intended for infantry, instead accommodated a smaller crew of three to four soldiers. The system was used to provide powerful rocket fire support for tank and panzergrenadier formations. The distinctive whistling sound of the rockets resembled that of the German Ju 87 Stuka dive bomber, earning the vehicle the nickname Stuka zu Fuß, meaning Stuka on Foot.

Preparing the rocket launcher for firing required considerable physical effort from the crew. The launch frames had to be lifted manually and secured to the mounting brackets along the sides of the vehicle. A special mechanism allowed the elevation angle to be adjusted between +5° and +40°, while horizontal aiming was achieved by turning the entire vehicle. Two aiming pins on the engine bonnet helped position the half-track accurately. ICM recreates this distinctive arrangement as a detailed plastic model kit accompanied by four crew figures.
