The frame and chassis were also largely reinforced, increasing the vehicle’s total weight to 21.6 tons, giving it a total gross weight of 87 tons and allowing it to tow loads of up to 50 tons. The first series remained in production in Minsk until 1964 before production was shifted to the Kurgan Factory.
