Description

The 1:35 Trumpeter 00374 Sd.Kfz.165/1 Geschützwagen IVb für 10.5cm leFH 18/1 (Sf.) WWII is a detailed plastic model kit of a German self-propelled howitzer from the Second World War. This Static Armor model is perfect for modellers who enjoy rare German prototype vehicles, Pz.Kpfw. IV based artillery and realistic 1:35 WWII dioramas with technical depth.

The Geschützwagen IVb für 10.5cm leFH 18/1 (Sf.) was developed using many components of the Pz.Kpfw. IV, but received a shortened hull, a new power unit and a completely different open-topped turret. In September 1939, Krupp received a design proposal for a purpose-built self-propelled howitzer. Unlike earlier motorized artillery, this was not an adapted or converted vehicle, but a vehicle designed specifically for this role. The 10.5 cm le.F.H.18/1 was mounted in an open-topped turret, where the light field howitzer could rotate through a 70-degree arc.

After field testing, the vehicle did not enter mass production. Only a small number of prototypes and trial vehicles were built, after which German Army requirements for this type of vehicle changed. The produced vehicles were sent to fight on the Eastern Front, and no example has survived to this day. This Trumpeter kit consists of 590 plastic parts and includes slide-molded hull parts, a slide-molded turret, vinyl tracks and photo-etched parts. Order today from Most-Models.com and benefit from fast delivery, excellent customer service and a strong range of Trumpeter model kits, German howitzers and 1:35 military scale models.
