Description

The 1:35 Trumpeter 00382 PT-76B Amphibious Tank is a strong plastic model kit of a Polish amphibious light tank. This Static Armor model is ideal for modellers who want to build a distinctive Warsaw Pact vehicle with swimming capability, reconnaissance character and a recognisable Polish Navy Marine Brigade finish. With its low silhouette, amphibious background and compact shape, the PT-76B is a striking addition to your 1:35 military collection.

The PT-76 was developed in 1950 and entered service with the Red Army one year later. In the water, the tank was powered by hydrodynamic propellers, making its amphibious capability a major advantage. Serial production continued until 1967 and the vehicle was widely used within the Warsaw Pact and beyond. The PT-76 was exported to Poland, East Germany, China, Vietnam, Cuba and Egypt. In 1959, the PT-76B entered service with a new D-56TS gun and larger fuel tanks.

The PT-76B had a three-man crew, a 76 mm main gun with an effective range of approximately 1500 metres and was also used to transport troops. Its light armour made the vehicle vulnerable, but its amphibious capability gave it a unique role within reconnaissance units. This Trumpeter kit includes 187 parts, 2 photo-etched frets, a slide-molded lower hull, upper hull, tracks and a Polish paint scheme for tank #4607 of the Polish Navy Marine Brigade. Order today from Most-Models.com and benefit from fast delivery, excellent customer service and a strong range of Trumpeter model kits, Polish military vehicles and 1:35 scale models.
