The ZSU-23-4 "Shilka" entered service with the Soviet army in 1965 and quickly became one of the most recognizable anti-aircraft weapons of the Cold War. Armed with four radar-guided 23 mm AZP-23 "Amur" autocannons, it could not only take down aircraft, helicopters and cruise missiles, but also effectively engage light armored vehicles and ground targets. In 1973, an upgraded version was introduced, featuring more reliable autocannons, an improved ammunition feed system and a better fire-control unit. Although officially named "Beryoza," the vehicle continued to be known simply as "Shilka."
A total of about 6,500 units were produced, and the vehicle is still in service in more than 40 countries worldwide. Its effectiveness has been demonstrated in numerous conflicts, making it a true icon of Soviet engineering and military history. With this kit you can faithfully recreate all the distinctive details of the Shilka, a machine that symbolizes firepower and versatility.
Whether displayed on its own or as part of a diorama with tanks and infantry, the ZSU-23-4 will always stand out as a centerpiece in your collection. For experienced modelers as well as motivated beginners, this kit offers both challenge and reward.
