1:48 Airfix 12015 McDonnell Douglas Phantom FG.1 - British Naval Fighter and Attack Aircraft Plastic Model kit

With the Airfix 12015 McDonnell Douglas Phantom FG.1, you can build one of Britain's most impressive Cold War naval fighters in 1:48 scale. This powerful jet served with the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm and played an important role in defending British aircraft carriers. With its distinctive silhouette, rugged appearance and specialised adaptations for carrier operations, the Phantom FG.1 is an appealing subject for military aviation enthusiasts.

The Phantom FG.1 was based on the American McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom and was acquired as a modern replacement for the De Havilland Sea Vixen. Its primary role was to protect the fleet against enemy aircraft in all weather conditions, although it could also provide powerful strike support. Operating such a large aircraft from the relatively small flight deck of HMS Ark Royal required significant modifications to both the Phantom and the aircraft carrier itself.

This extensive Airfix model kit accurately recreates the distinctive features of the British naval version. Its detailed components allow you to capture the characteristic design of the Phantom FG.1. With three authentic Fleet Air Arm paint schemes, decals and painting instructions, you can complete the model with a historically appropriate finish.
