1:72 Hasegawa 64818 Northrop F-20 Tigershark Shin Kazama Area 88 with Acrylic Stand - Fictional Fighter Aircraft Plastic Model kit

A high-performance jet fighter, a legendary manga pilot and an exclusive acrylic stand: the Hasegawa 64818 Northrop F-20 Tigershark Shin Kazama Area 88 brings the world of the Japanese aviation manga Area 88 to your modelling collection. This plastic model kit in 1:72 scale allows you to recreate Shin Kazama's distinctive Tigershark, one of the most recognisable aircraft associated with the famous character created by manga artist Kaoru Shintani. This limited edition also includes an acrylic stand featuring Shin, allowing you to display the aircraft alongside its fictional pilot. A distinctive combination for enthusiasts of modern fighter aircraft, manga and Japanese popular culture.

Area 88 follows the story of Shin Kazama, a Japanese pilot who finds himself unwillingly serving with a mercenary air force unit in the fictional Kingdom of Aslan. Operating from the secret Area 88 airbase, he participates in dangerous aerial battles in which a wide variety of real-world jet fighters play important roles. Later in the story, around the time of the move to the new Area 88 base, Shin is promoted to captain and acquires the advanced Northrop F-20 Tigershark. In reality, the F-20 was an American experimental light fighter developed during the 1980s as an improved successor to the F-5 family. Although it never entered series production, its streamlined design and appearance in Area 88 earned it a special place among aviation and manga enthusiasts.

Hasegawa allows you to recreate Shin's famous Tigershark with the distinctive markings from the manga. The included decals represent his aircraft serving with the mercenary unit of the Aslan Air Force. Two different patterns are provided for the lines on the vertical tail fin, giving you a choice when finishing the model. The exclusive acrylic stand featuring Shin Kazama makes an eye-catching addition and adds to the set's appeal as a collectable. Display the completed F-20 alongside the character stand to create a recognisable scene from the world of Area 88.
