Description

The 1:72 Heller 56279 T-28 Fennec/Trojan Starter Kit is an interesting plastic model kit of a French-American training and light attack aircraft. This Starter Kit is ideal when you want to start building right away, because the edition includes several basic paint colours, a brush and glue. You get a distinctive aircraft with a background linked to both American training aviation and French operational use.

The North American T-28 was developed as an American single-engine low-wing training aircraft. The first prototype was tested in 1949 and, after entering service, the T-28 replaced the older P-51 Mustangs. In 1952, the US Navy ordered the T-28B with a more powerful engine and later the T-28C for carrier training. That makes this aircraft an appealing subject for modellers who enjoy training aircraft with a clear military role.

In 1960 and 1961, France acquired 145 T-28As from US surplus stock while looking for a replacement for the outdated T-6 for use in the conflict in Algeria. These aircraft were called Fennec and converted for light attack duties against armed rebels. The Fennec’s first flight took place on 10 March 1960. Aircraft of this type were later used in combat during the Algerian Civil War and in the Dominican Republic. Order today from Most-Models.com and benefit from fast delivery, excellent customer service and a strong range of Heller Starter Kits, 1:72 aircraft models and historical training aircraft.
