This 20 ml metallic acrylic paint is the Base step within the Real Heavy Metal system and is ideal when you want metal parts to have a weathered, subdued and characterful appearance without losing metallic reflectivity.

Real Heavy Metal was developed and refined by IONIC for more than a year to reduce common issues such as visible brush marks, uneven shine, dull metallics, harsh highlights and metallic pigment rubbing off. This allows you to work quickly and consistently towards a professional metallic result, whether you are a beginner or an advanced painter.

Tarnished Metal Base features a high-coverage, fast-drying and self-levelling formula capable of covering in a single coat. Ultra-fine metallic pigment creates realistic reflections and a smooth finish. Apply it by brush or airbrush and combine it with Metallic Wash and Metallic Highlight within the complete system.

The durable paint is resistant to enamels, oils and weathering effects and does not reactivate with water once fully dry. Tarnished Metal Base can also be mixed with other IONIC acrylics to create cool, warm, aged, oxidised or fully customised metallic effects.
