For the best result, apply the fixer with a fine brush. Load the brush, gently touch the edge of the pigment and allow the product to flow into it by capillary action. Avoid brushing or scrubbing, as this can move the pigment and alter the desired effect.

While wet, the pigment may temporarily appear darker. Once the fixer has dried completely, the colour will become lighter again. If required, additional pigment can then be added to increase intensity or build subtle tonal variation, after which the fixing process can be repeated.
